The Applied Research Collaborative is a partnership between three of the region’s leading research institutions – RegionWise (SLU), the Public Policy Research Center (UMSL), and the Institute for Urban Research (SIUE)


The Institute for Urban Research at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville:

The IUR provides assistance in areas of strategic planning, survey development, and data collection. Its mission is to advance the scholarship and understanding of urban governance issues through the facilitation of teaching, research, and service on urban issue by SIUE faculty, professional staff, and students. 

The Public Policy Research Center at the University of Missouri-St. Louis:

The Public Policy Research Center produces and disseminates methodologically rigorous and unbiased applied analysis and evaluation of public policies and programs and theoretical research on public policy issues. PPRC conducts applied research for the civic, nonprofit, and public sectors of the St. Louis area and the State of Missouri.


The Center for Sustainability at Saint Louis University:

Established in 2010 by a grant from the Alberici Foundation, Saint Louis University's Center for Sustainability offers in-demand graduate degrees in Sustainability, Urban Planning and Development, and Geographic Information Science.
